In order to succeed you must be able to communicate with others, if you cannot communicate then you can't relay what you're trying to get across. If people don't understand what you're trying to get across then they have no idea of your intentions. your intention would be success.

Why do you think people have superstitions?

Probably because they need a scapegoat for when any thing goes wrong for them. It is human nature to ignore human error. Therefore humans will place blame on other things, such as superstitions, or regular plain old stitions.
